π Environment
This isn't normal. And it's getting worse.
People report it⦠and then wait. And wait. Meanwhile, it attracts rats, smells in the summer, and sends one clear message: nobody is in control.
This is basic council responsibility β and it's not being delivered.
Fly-Tipping & Littering
Walk down almost any alley in Tipton Green and you'll see it β dumped mattresses, torn bin bags, broken furniture left for weeks. This isn't normal. And it's getting worse.
People report it⦠and then wait. And wait. Meanwhile, it attracts rats, smells in the summer, and sends one clear message: nobody is in control.
This is basic council responsibility β and it's not being delivered.
What's going wrong
- Reports take too long to be cleared
- Enforcement is weak or non-existent
- Known hotspots are ignored
What I will do
- Push for CCTV in the worst fly-tipping areas β visible and enforced
- Demand faster clear-up times β 48 hours after reporting
- Push for real penalties for repeat offenders
- Support local clean-up efforts and community action
π‘οΈ Community Safety
I've spoken to residents who avoid going out after dark. Parents worried about parks. Ongoing issues with noise, vandalism and intimidation.
And when people report it β they feel ignored.
Anti-social behaviour isn't being taken seriously enough.
It's not just policing β it's coordination. Council, police and housing need to work together. Right now, that's not happening properly.
Anti-Social Behaviour
Too many people don't feel safe in their own area β especially in the evenings.I've spoken to residents who avoid going out after dark.
What's going wrong
- Anti-social behaviour isn't being taken seriously enough
- Council, police and housing aren't working together

ποΈ Council Services
People do everything right⦠and the bin still isn't collected. Then they're told to wait another two weeks.
That's not acceptable.
Waste Collection & Recycling
Missed bins are no longer rare β they're routine.People do everything rightβ¦ and the bin still isn't collected. Then they're told to wait another two weeks.
That's not acceptable.
What's going wrong
- Contractors not being held accountable
- Poor communication
- Confusing recycling rules
- Lack of proper options for bulky waste
What I will do
- Hold contractors accountable β missed bins = next-day collection
- Push for simple, clear information to every household
- Improve access to bulky waste collection
- Act as a direct contact β if it's missed, I will chase it
π§ Infrastructure
It damages cars, creates risks for cyclists, and makes it harder for older residents and families to get around.
And too often, repairs are temporary and don't last.
Roads & Pavements
Potholes, cracked pavements, unsafe crossings β this affects daily life.It damages cars, creates risks for cyclists, and makes it harder for older residents and families to get around.
And too often, repairs are temporary and don't last.
What's going wrong
- Short-term fixes instead of proper repairs
- Repeated reports with no lasting solution
- No clear plan for maintenance
What I will do
- Push for proper, long-term repairs β not patch jobs
- Prioritise pavements near schools, shops and housing
- Demand a clear maintenance schedule residents can see
- Campaign for safer crossings and better road markings
π Housing
New builds go up, but infrastructure doesn't keep up. Meanwhile, local families struggle to afford to stay in the area.
Housing & Development
Development is happening β but not always in the right way.New builds go up, but infrastructure doesn't keep up. Meanwhile, local families struggle to afford to stay in the area.
What's going wrong
- Weak consultation with residents
- Not enough infrastructure (GPs, schools, roads)
- "Affordable housing" that isn't actually affordable
What I will do
- Represent residents in planning decisions β properly
- Push for infrastructure to come with development
- Fight for genuinely affordable homes for local people
- Challenge overdevelopment that brings no real benefit
π³ Parks & Green Spaces
But too often they're neglected: litter, broken equipment, poor maintenance.
Places like Victoria Park could be a real asset β but they need proper attention.
